A story of taste, passion... and matcha
It all began with a cup of matcha at the end of the world.
TSUKI was born of a desire to share an exceptional matcha, accessible, gentle and faithful to Japanese traditions.
Chapter 1
A personal story, a collective mission
Hello, I'm Romane - founder of TSUKI
I discovered matcha in Asia, and it quickly became my morning ritual.
As a former coffee drinker, I was looking for a milder alternative: matcha gave me energy without the peaks, without the anxiety.
Back in France, I was disappointed: cafés served matchas that were too bitter, often drowned in sugar to mask the taste. And online, quality products were rare or overpriced.
So I created TSUKI, to offer an organic matcha that's gentle, accessible and faithful to Japanese traditions.
-
From idea to brand
The idea for TSUKI was born in December 2023, a few days after my return to France.
Within a few hours, I had created the brand and contacted over 30 Japanese producers. I wanted to taste, compare and find the right one. The one I would have liked to buy as a customer. After several weeks of testing, I found THE right matcha. TSUKI officially came into being on June 1, 2024.

Offer a quality matcha, without compromise
TSUKI was born of a simple need: to drink a good matcha, without having to break the piggy bank or settle for a mediocre product.
I wanted an organic matcha, faithful to Japanese traditions, but accessible, pleasant and easy to integrate into my daily routine. -
A simple, gentle and sincere brand
At TSUKI, everything is designed to offer you a quality experience, from the choice of matcha to the moment you taste it.
We select our products with the utmost care, directly from Japan, from trusted producers. Our priority: to be transparent about the origin and manufacturing process, and to offer you a matcha whose story you know.
For the quality we offer - organic, hand-harvested, stone-ground matcha - we've chosen to remain accessible so that as many of you as possible can enjoy the benefits of matcha on a daily basis.
-
Matcha for everyday use
TSUKI was not designed for the tea elite, but for all those who want to discover or rediscover matcha at its best.
Our matcha is gentle, balanced and accessible. It appeals as much to regulars as to those who thought they didn't like it.
It can be easily integrated into a wellness routine, without complexity or fixed ceremonial. -
A matcha to share
We are constantly evolving our offer with passion and curiosity.
We love collaborating with other professionals and enthusiasts to create pastries around matcha, organize events to meet our community, or distribute TSUKI in places that share our values - from the Grenoble region to Reunion Island.
Every new recipe, every idea, every encounter pushes us to reinvent the way matcha can be drunk and shared.
Our selection of Japanese matcha
Chapter 2
From Japan to your cup
The heart of TSUKI is matcha.
We have chosen to source our matcha directly from Japan, as close as possible to the farms, to offer you a high-quality, traceable, organic matcha.
At TSUKI, we don't choose matcha because it's fashionable, but because it's tasty, has a beautiful color, a fine texture - and respects real know-how.
In this section, we tell you more about the origins of our teas, the types of matcha we offer, and what makes our selection so special.
-
Made in Japan
Our matchas are grown in Japan, in two regions renowned for the quality of their tea: Shizuoka and Kagoshima.
We work directly with an organic tea farm renowned for its expertise.
Each harvest is carefully selected to guarantee consistent quality, a beautiful green color, a fine texture... and a taste to match. All our matchas come from the Yabukita variety, appreciated for its natural sweetness and balance.
It is this choice that enables our matchas to appeal to both the curious and the well-informed. -
Choosing ceremonial matcha
Ceremonial matcha is the highest grade of matcha. It comes from the first harvests, with the most tender leaves, rich in umami and low in bitterness.
This is the grade we have chosen for our matcha Original and our Vanilla matcha
→ for its smoothness, finesse and brilliant color,
→ for its quality. -
A process that respects tea and nature
The matcha we offer follows a precise artisanal process, faithful to traditional Japanese methods:
- Shade tea bushes for 3 to 4 weeks before harvest → to increase chlorophyll, L-theanine (soothing effect) and sweetness
- Manual harvesting of young leaves
→ only the most tender are selected - Transformation into tencha → the stems and veins are removed, leaving only the heart of the leaf.
- Stone-ground → slowly, to preserve aromas, powder fineness and nutrients
This process produces a vibrant, fine matcha, rich in antioxidants - but above all, pleasant to drink.
- Shade tea bushes for 3 to 4 weeks before harvest → to increase chlorophyll, L-theanine (soothing effect) and sweetness
-
Organic, traceable matcha you can trust
All our matchas are certified organic: no pesticides, no chemical fertilizers.
Each batch is tested in Japan before packaging.
We check the fineness of the powder, its color, taste and freshness. The hermetically sealed tins we use guarantee this quality right up to your cup.Above all, we're transparent: about origins, harvests and how matcha is produced. Because you have the right to know what you're consuming.
