The origin of our matcha
Our matcha is harvested in the Shizuoka region of Japan, renowned for its 750+ year tradition of tea cultivation.
Nestled between mountains and ocean, close to Mount Fuji , Shizuoka benefits from rich volcanic soil, numerous rivers and a particularly favorable climate. These unique conditions make it possible to produce green tea of exceptional quality.
We carefully select our tea leaves, cultivated in accordance with Japanese traditions, to offer you an authentic matcha of incomparable quality .
MATCHA
Why buy a kit rather than the products separately?
Buying a kit gives you everything you need to prepare matcha at home, whether for a traditional tasting or to incorporate matcha into your recipes. In addition, the price of the kit is lower than the price of purchasing the products individually. So you save money while getting the essential accessories.
Which kit to choose?
If you prefer to enjoy matcha as a beverage, whether traditionally or as a latte, the Ritual Kit is perfect for you, featuring our high-quality ceremonial matcha.
If you want to explore different ways to enjoy matcha, both for tasting and for incorporating it into your recipes, the TSUKI Kit is ideal. It contains both our ceremonial matcha and our culinary matcha, giving you more versatility.
Do I need a sieve for matcha?
Our ceremonial matcha is exceptionally fine, eliminating the need for a sieve when preparing it. It dissolves easily in hot water with the whisk, creating a smooth, lump-free texture.
Is it mandatory to use the measuring spoon?
The stainless steel measuring spoon is an optional accessory. You can definitely use a regular spoon to measure matcha. However, the measuring spoon is designed to precisely measure 1 gram of matcha, which ensures better accuracy for your preparations.
What is matcha?
Matcha is a finely ground green tea powder traditionally used in the Japanese tea ceremony. It is made from green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis) that are specially grown and shaded before harvest.
What are the benefits of matcha?
Matcha is rich in antioxidants, helps with concentration thanks to L-theanine, and supports the immune system. It is also known for its calming properties.
How to prepare matcha?
Mix 1 to 2 grams of matcha with hot water (max. 80°C) and whisk until frothy. You can also prepare it as a latte or add it to recipes.
What is the difference between culinary and ceremonial matcha?
The difference between culinary and ceremonial matcha lies in the quality of the leaves, the color, and the taste. Ceremonial matcha, made from the young leaves of the tea plant, is bright green and has a mild taste, perfect for drinking neat. Culinary matcha, made from more mature leaves, is more bitter and suitable for cooking and sweet recipes.
How long can you keep matcha?
Once opened, it is best to consume it within 2 to 3 months in order to fully benefit from all its nutrients. Store it in a cool, dry place, away from light and humidity.
Does matcha contain caffeine?
Yes, matcha contains caffeine, but in smaller amounts than coffee. It provides more stable and long-lasting energy thanks to the presence of L-theanine.
Can you drink matcha everyday?
Yes, matcha can be consumed daily in moderate amounts. It is beneficial for health when integrated into a balanced diet.
What are the benefits of using quality accessories?
The accessories included in our kits are designed to give you the best matcha ritual experience. The 120-stem Chasen guarantees perfect foam and superior durability to standard models, while the measuring spoon ensures you always get the ideal amount of matcha for each preparation.
Are the accessories durable?
Yes, our accessories are designed to last. The bamboo whisk can last for several months or even years, depending on how often it is used. On the other hand, the stainless steel measuring spoon is a lifetime investment, durable and always ready to serve you for your preparations.
