A story of taste, passion… and matcha
It all started with a cup of matcha at the end of the world.
TSUKI was born from an epiphany: to share an exceptional matcha, accessible, smooth, and true to Japanese traditions.
Chapter 1
A personal story, a collective mission
Hi, I'm Romane – founder of TSUKI
I discovered matcha in Asia, and it quickly became my morning ritual.
As a former heavy coffee drinker, I was looking for a gentler alternative: matcha gave me energy without the jitters, without the anxiety.
Back in France, I was disappointed: cafés served matcha that was too bitter, often drowned in sugar to mask the taste. And online, quality products were rare or overpriced.
So I created TSUKI, to offer an organic, smooth, accessible matcha, faithful to Japanese traditions.
-
From idea to brand
The idea for TSUKI was born in December 2023, a few days after my return to France.
In a few hours, I created the brand and contacted over 30 Japanese producers. I wanted to taste, compare, and find the right one. The one I would have liked to buy as a customer. After several weeks of testing, I found THE right matcha. TSUKI officially launched on June 1, 2024.

Offering quality matcha, without compromise
TSUKI was born from a simple need: to drink good matcha, without breaking the bank or settling for a mediocre product.
I wanted an organic matcha, true to Japanese traditions, yet accessible, pleasant, and easy to integrate into everyday life. -
A simple, gentle, and sincere brand
At TSUKI, everything is designed to offer you a quality experience, from choosing the matcha to the moment you enjoy it.
We select our products with high standards, directly from Japan, from trusted producers. Our priority: to be transparent about the origin, the manufacturing process, and to offer you matcha whose story you know.
For the quality we offer — organic matcha, hand-picked, stone-ground — we choose to remain accessible to allow as many of you as possible to enjoy the benefits of matcha every day.
-
A matcha designed for everyday
TSUKI was not designed for a tea elite, but for anyone who wants to discover or rediscover matcha in its best version.
Our matcha is smooth, balanced, and accessible. It appeals as much to regulars as to those who thought they wouldn't like it.
It easily integrates into a wellness routine, without complexity or rigid ceremony. -
A matcha to share
We are constantly evolving our offerings, with passion and curiosity.
We love collaborating with other professionals and enthusiasts to create matcha pastries, organize events to meet our community, and distribute TSUKI in places that share our values — from the Grenoble region to Reunion Island.
Every new recipe, every idea, every encounter pushes us to reinvent the way matcha can be drunk and shared.
Our selection of Japanese matcha
Chapter 2
From Japan to your cup
Matcha is at the heart of TSUKI.
We've chosen to source directly from Japan, as close to the farms as possible, to offer you organic, traceable, high-quality matcha.
At TSUKI, we don't choose a matcha because it's trendy, but because it has great taste, a beautiful color, a fine texture — and because it respects true expertise.
In this section, we tell you more about the origin of our teas, the types of matcha we offer, and what makes our selection so special.
-
Made in Japan
Our matchas are cultivated in Japan, in two regions renowned for the quality of their tea: Shizuoka and Kagoshima.
We work directly with an organic tea farm, recognized for its expertise.
Each harvest is carefully selected to guarantee consistent quality, a beautiful green color, a fine texture... and an excellent taste. All our matchas come from the Yabukita variety, appreciated for its natural sweetness and balance.
This choice allows our matchas to appeal to both the curious and the connoisseurs. -
Choosing ceremonial matcha
Ceremonial matcha is the highest grade of matcha. It comes from the first harvests, with the tenderest leaves, rich in umami and low in bitterness.
This is the grade we chose for our Original matcha and our Vanilla matcha:
→ for its sweetness, delicacy, and vibrant color,
→ for its quality. -
A process that respects tea and nature
The matcha we offer follows a precise artisanal process, faithful to traditional Japanese methods:
- Tea plant shading for 3 to 4 weeks before harvest → to increase chlorophyll, L-theanine (calming effect), and sweetness
- Manual harvesting of young leaves
→ only the tenderest are selected - Conversion into tencha → stems and veins are removed, keeping only the heart of the leaf
- Stone grinding → slowly, to preserve aromas, the fineness of the powder, and nutrients
This process results in a vibrant, fine matcha, rich in antioxidants — but above all, pleasant to drink.
- Tea plant shading for 3 to 4 weeks before harvest → to increase chlorophyll, L-theanine (calming effect), and sweetness
-
An organic, traceable, and trusted matcha
All our matchas are certified organic: no pesticides, no chemical fertilizers.
Each batch is tested in Japan before packaging.
We check the fineness of the powder, its color, its taste, and its freshness. The airtight tins we use guarantee this quality until it reaches your cup.And most importantly, we are transparent: about the origins, the harvests, and how the matcha is produced. Because you have the right to know what you consume.
