Our handcrafted bamboo whisk, "Chasen"(茶筅) in Japanese, is the essential tool for authentic matcha tea preparation.

Made from high-quality bamboo, each whisk is designed to create a creamy, airy foam, revealing the full richness of matcha aromas and flavors. It ensures perfect, even blending.

Its 120 stems are a testament to its durability and effectiveness.

Add a touch of authenticity to your daily matcha tea routine with our handcrafted bamboo whisk.

Before first use: Immerse the Chasen in very hot water for a few minutes to soften the bamboo stalks. Repeat this step occasionally, or if you notice that the bamboo stems lack suppleness.

When preparing the matcha: Avoid exerting pressure on the whisk (this is not necessary to obtain a good froth).

After each use: Gently rinse the whisk in cold water to remove any residue. Leave to air-dry to preserve its shape and the suppleness of its strands. It is recommended not to use soap to avoid altering the matcha taste.

Between uses: Keep away from moisture.

Add 1 to 2 grams of matcha to a bowl with a little hot water (max. 80°C).

Whisk vigorously, using the bamboo whisk (Chasen) without exerting pressure, forming "M" (or "W") movements to dissolve the powder and obtain a light, creamy mousse.

This traditional whisk creates an airy, smooth, lump-free foam, making matcha even more enjoyable.

Carved from durable bamboo, each Chasen is designed for flexibility and longevity.

We have chosen to offer you a 120-stem whisk, guaranteeing greater durability and higher efficiency than traditional 100-stem models.

It's the ideal accessory for dosing your matcha with precision.

One level spoon (approx. 1 g) = the perfect amount for one cup.

It will last you a very long time if you take good care of it - no need to replace it.

Because it's the essential accessory for obtaining a smooth, frothy texture.

Without it, matcha can be lumpy or too liquid.

Yes, and that's perfectly normal! The bamboo whisk (chasen) is a handcrafted tool, made to be used regularly - so it naturally wears out over time.

But a few simple gestures can extend its life:

  • run under hot water before each use to soften the strands,
  • air dry, preferably on a suitable surface,
  • avoid soaking in water.
