Making perfect matcha in 4 steps
Need more information before ordering?
It's the ideal accessory for precisely measuring your matcha.
One level scoop (approx. 1 g) = the perfect amount for one cup.
It will last you a very long time if you take care of it — no need to replace it.
Because it's the essential accessory for achieving a smooth and frothy texture.
Without it, matcha can be lumpy or too watery.
Yes, and that's perfectly normal! The bamboo whisk (chasen) is a handcrafted tool, made to be used regularly—so it naturally wears out over time.
But a few simple steps can extend its lifespan:
- run it under hot water before each use to soften the tines,
- allow it to air dry, preferably on a suitable stand,
- avoid soaking it in water.

The Art of the Chasen Whisk
Mastering the whisking technique is essential to fully bring out the finesse of matcha.
Use a quick M or W-shaped wrist motion, without pressing on the bottom of the bowl, to create a fine and even foam.
Start by dissolving the powder with a little lukewarm water before whisking more vigorously to avoid lumps.
After each use, simply rinse the chasen with clean water without soap, gently shake off excess water, then let it air dry, ideally on a stand, to preserve its shape and flexibility.
