Smooth Strawberry Matcha

Matcha Onctueux à la Fraise

Ingredients :

  • 4 to 5 ripe strawberries
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons of our Original Matcha powder
  • Hot water (70-80°C)
  • 100 to 200 ml of milk
  • A matcha bowl (chawan)
  • A bamboo whisk (chasen)
  • An electric whisk
  • Ice cubes

 

Instructions :

1. Preparation of strawberries:

  • Wash and hull the strawberries. Cut them into small pieces.
  • Lightly crush the strawberries at the bottom of a glass to extract the juice and pulp.

2. Milk frothing:

  • Use an electric whisk to froth the milk until light and smooth.

3. Traditional preparation of matcha:

  • Pour your matcha: Pour one to two spoons of matcha powder into your bowl. To avoid lumps, use a sieve.
  • Add hot water: Slowly pour the hot water over the matcha, leaving room for whisking.
  • Whisk the matcha: With the bamboo whisk, make a rapid back and forth movement until you obtain a fine, creamy foam.

4. Combine:

  • Pour the frothed milk over the crushed strawberries.
  • Carefully pour the foamed matcha over the milk.
  • Add ice cubes to cool.

 

Practical advice :

  • Choose high-quality matcha powder for exceptional taste.
  • Keep a few strawberries aside to decorate your glass or add to your matcha.
